Morning Prayer Guide - Friday

Read: 1 Peter 4:7-11 and Psalm 103:8-13

Remain in prayer. Be hospitable to each other without grumbling. If you have a gift, use it to minister to others. St. Peter is giving some last-minute instructions to his readers. He knew tough times were coming, and that the Christians would have to stick together and remain faithful to Christ’s commands. We are still facing tough times, and Peter’s words are still relevant. Do you love fiercely? Do you show hospitality to people, even those who are non-believers? Do you use your gifts to benefit and build up others? Take some time to talk to God about this. You may find the following prayer helpful:

O God, the strength of all who put their trust in you: Mercifully accept our prayers; and because in our weakness we can do nothing good without you, give us the help of your grace, that in keeping your commandments we may please you both in will and deed; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
