After nearly nine months on hiatus, the morning prayer guide is returning to Barefoot Friar.
There were several reasons why I stopped posting them, mainly having to do with not having enough time to write new ones and then upload them to the blog. Now that I've moved into my new appointment, however, I seem to have a bit more time to do things like this.
For those of you who have been following from far away, I am now the pastor of Houston Memorial United Methodist Church in Winston County, Alabama. It is a tiny, unincorporated community located just off Highway 278, between Cullman and Double Springs. I am mere moments from Smith Lake and I'm also within Bankhead National Forest. So I'm one happy camper.
There are many opportunities for ministry here, and I'm looking forward to getting some things started. I'm hoping to put some of the lessons I learned at Upper Sand Mountain Parish into practice here.
The prayer guide will be back beginning on Monday morning. I will have my weekly column from the bulletin up about midmorning on Sunday, though, so come back and check it out.
Hopefully I can get the main website in gear and going, but don't hold your breath. Between wedding planning and school it may take me a while. But I'm working on it.
Anyway, thanks for being patient, and I hope you are able to use the guides.
